Chapter 1 - What is Archaeology?

Language	Writing - produce pieces of writing using a variety of forms -frequently introduce vocabulary from other subjects Oral/Visual - contribute ideas to help solve problems and listen and respond constructively to the ideas of others when working in a group -use constructive strategies in small group discussions; -follow up on others' ideas and recognize the validity of different points of view in group discussions and problem solving activities.
Social Studies/History	-ask pertinent questions to obtain information; identify and compare design and technology in early civilizations; -communicate information about early communities -examine the impact of early civilizations	-communicate the results of inquiries for specific purposes
Information Studies	-analyze, classify and interpret information -build a knowledge base from a variety of sources -evaluate definitions	-examine media works for usefulness, validity and effectiveness, identifying bias, inclusiveness, stereotyping, intent, credibility -develop subject webs -use references and cross references -to expand approaches to a topic, use role play to explore ideas during research process
