The CAA executive and the archaeologists of the Department of First Nations Studies of Simon Fraser University are happy to announce that the 2013 annual meeting will be held in Whistler, B.C., from May 15 to May 19, 2013. This will be the first time back in Whistler since the CAA meeting in 1989.
The location for all sessions, professional meetings will be at the Whistler Conference Centre. Our banquet on Saturday May 18 will be held at the Squamish-Lil'wat Cultural Centre. The Holiday Inn Whistler is a short walk from the conference centre and is ready to host our delegates. Alternatively, delegates may choose to stay at the Aava Hotel, which is directly across the street from the conference centre and has a pool, workout room and sauna. A web link will be provided soon for online registration. Remember to bring some warm clothing as the Whistler evenings can get chilly in May!
Registration will start on the evening of May 15 in the conference centre. Sessions will start on the morning of Thursday, May 16 and will finish on the afternoon of Saturday, May 18th. The banquet will be held on Saturday evening, May 18th. A guest speaker has not been chosen yet. We are planning some field trips for Sunday, May 19th.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Whistler. Don’t forget to bring your sense of fun and adventure. We are certain that you will have a wonderful time.
