Appointment of William Moss to the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Canada’s Tentative List for World Heritage Sites

I would like to congratulate Mr. Moss, Chief Archaeologist for the City of Québec, following his appointment to the Advisory Committee on Canada’s Tentative List for World Heritage Sites. This committee will be responsible for recommending cultural and natural heritage sites to the Honourable Catherine McKenna, Minister of the Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, for an eventual inclusion in UNESCO’s World Heritage List. In September 2016, I contacted CAA’s members informing them Parks Canada was seeking candidates for this committee and informing you that the public could submit sites for evaluation. We can hope that more archaeological sites will soon be up for consideration by UNESCO! More information on Canada’s World Heritage sites can be found on Parks Canada web page at the following address: www.pc.gc.ca/eng/progs/spm-whs/sec06.aspx
