| The Canadian Archaeological
Association and the Canadian Museum of Civilization are pleased
to announce that the Canadian Archaeological Association is a "mirror
site" of the CMC's virtual museum exhibition entitled "Retracing
an Archaeological Expedition." This exhibition is one result of
the Mackenzie Valley Archaeology Project conducted under NOGAP (Northern
Oil and Gas Action Plan). During a decade of interdisciplinary research,
oral, historical, archaeological and ethnographic information was collected
and much of that is now available via the web.
The parent web site, and its mirror here at the CAA, contains hundreds of megabytes of text, photographic, video and sound data designed to provide you with everything from a basic overview to detailed technical information about the thousands of years of lower Mackenzie Valley and Beaufort Sea history. The web content of the CAA mirror is identical to the parent web site served through the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Hull, Québec in all respects except that the CAA site additionally serves up all the unilingual technical reports associated with the project. |
L'Association canadienne
d'archéologie et le Musée canadien des civilisations
ont le plaisir d'annoncer que le site WWW de l'ACA est un site "miroir"
pour la composante du Musée intitulée "Sur les pistes
de la découverte". Cette exposition virtuelle est le fruit
du Projet archéologique du Programme d'initiatives pétrolières
et gazifières du Nord (PIPGN). Pendant presqu'une décennie
de recherches multidisciplinaires on a receuilli des données historiques,
archéologiques, ethnographiques et d'histoire traditionnelle. Ces
données vous sont maintenant disponibles par le biais du WWW.
Le site d'origine, ainsi que le site miroir ici au site WWW de l'ACA, contiennent des centaines de megaoctets d'images, de vidéos et de sons afin de vous offrir autant un aperçu général que détaillé concernant des millénaires d'histoire dans la vallée du Mackenzie et dans la région de la mer de Beaufort. Le continu du site miroir est identique à celui du site du Musée canadien des civilisations à Hull, Québec, sauf qu'il vous présente, en plus, les rapports techniques de terrain non-traduits tels que rédigés par les chercheurs. |
