The History of the Canadian Archaeological Association

| The Canadian Archaeological Association
came into being in 1968. The past 30 years have seen it develop from a
small gathering of eager scholars to a large body representing all interests
in Canadian archaeology and archaeology practiced by Canadians. During
those intervening years, the CAA has evolved, sometimes painfully, into
a mature and responsible organisation. |
L'Association canadienne d'archéologie
a vu le jour en 1968. Depuis 30 ans l'Association est allée d'un
petit groupe d'universitaires à un organisme représentant
les intérêts de l'archéologie canadienne et de l'archéologie
pratiquée par les Canadiens. L'A.C.A. a évoluée durant
ces années, parfois péniblement, pour devenir une organisation
responsable et mature. |
