Opening Ceremony
Join us for our opening ceremony where you will be welcomed to Mi’kma’ki by Kji Saqmaw (Grand Chief) Norman Sylliboy and by Mi’kmaw Drum Group, Sons of Membertou and family dancers. Welcoming remarks will be provided by: Saqmaw (Chief) Terry Paul, Membertou First Nation; Saqmaw Wilbert Marshall & Saqmaw Carol Dee Potter, Co-Leads of Culture, Heritage & Archaeology Portfolio for the Assembly of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaw Chiefs; and Dr. Helen Kristmanson, President of the Canadian Archaeological Association. Refreshments will be served. Please note this is a dry event.
